Clone High – A Show That Was Canceled Too Soon
Clone High was a hilarious and original television show that aired on MTV for one year. The show had a story like no other show, a high school that had a population of clones of famous historical figures, the main characters being Abraham Lincoln, Joan of Arc, and Mahatma Gandhi with supporting characters such as Cleopatra and John F. Kennedy. The school was set up and run by a government agency known as The Secret Board of Shadowy Figures. The show was extremely funny and highly original, how did this show get canceled? According to imdb.com the show has a collective 9.1 rating out of 1,388 votes. Just like Family Guy & Futurama, I believe MTV gave up prematurely on Clone High just as Fox gave up on Family Guy and Futurama. If Clone High became syndicated and more people knew about the show, I believe it could have been a huge success.
Main Characters:
Abe Lincoln: Clone of former president Abraham Lincoln and is very naive and shy. He is completely infatuated with Cleopatra and does not realize that Joan is in love with him
Joan of Arc: Clone of historical figure with the same name that lead the french army during the Hundred Year’s War. Is in love with Abe and however many advances towards him, he is completely oblivious to her.
Gandhi: Clone based off of Mahatma Gandhi and in episode three it is revealed suffers from A.D.D. Gandhi is Abe’s best friend and his character caused much controversy in India where many were offended of his personification of Mahatma Gandhi.

Will Clone High Ever Return?
Hopefully, however, all signs point to no. There is no plans to release a dvd set or for the show to return to syndication. For now, we must enjoy clone high streaming on the internet only.
